Column Templates in Table View for Contacts / Custom Objects


Purpose: Column Templates in Kizen allow you to customize and manage how data is displayed in the Table View for Contacts and Custom Objects. This functionality helps streamline workflows, ensure consistency, and tailor data views to meet the specific needs of your team

How to Access Column Templates


1. Navigate to the Contacts or Custom Objects section, located in the Data tab




Hint: To edit a column template for a custom object, go to the specific object and switch to Table View


2. Click on the Edit Columns  icon and open the Column Templates tab




Apply An Existing Template


1. Select which template you want to apply


2. Click on "..." icon under Actions column


3. Hit Apply Template from the dropdown




Add a New Template


In the Column Templates tab, you can also create your own personalized template:


1. Click on the Add Template button



2. Enter the Template Name


3. Apply Sharing Settings:

    

    3.1 for All Team Members: Grants the selected access level to every user in your account


    3.2 by Specific Roles: Grants the selected access level to all users assigned to the chosen role


    3.3 by Specific Team Members: Grants the selected access level only to the users you select


Note: If a single team member meets the requirements for multiple sections, they will be granted the maximum sharing setting



4. Once you have assigned permissions to your template, click Save


Hint: Enable the Make Private toggle to restrict access. Users will not be able to search for and request access to this column template unless they have View/Use permissions or higher


5. Customize columns for the newly created template as described in this guide.


6. Click Save or Save & Close



7. The template will appear in the list of available column templates




Edit Template


 Depending on your level access, you can:


    - Edit Template - available to users with Edit permissions


    - Edit Template and Sharing Settings - accessible to users with Admin or Owner roles


To edit the template:


1. Hover over the desired template and click the "..." icon under Actions column


2. Select Edit Template from the drop-down menu. Once inside the template editor, you can make changes to the layout of default columns



Attention: This is only needed in the case where there are multiple templates and your template has not yet been applied



To edit sharing settings:

 

1. Hover over the desired template and click the "..." icon under Actions column


2. Select Edit Sharing Settings from the drop-down menu



3. Make the required changes, then click Save to apply them




Duplicate Template


1. Hover over the desired template and click the "..." icon under Actions column


2. Select Duplicate from the drop-down menu



3. Make required changes if applicable


4. Click Save




Delete Template


1. Hover over the desired template and click the "..." icon under Actions column


2. Select Delete from the drop-down menu



3. Confirm Delete
