Overview

When you log into your Agent CRM account for the first time, it's important to fill out your Business Information. This is where you can customize your Agent CRM branding, add your contact information, and fill out necessary fields for your email integration.

⚠️ User Role Required: Agent - Administrator

How to Add Your Business Information

  1. Click on "Settings" (it may be nested under the "Platform" tab) in the top menu or go to fmo.kizen.com/settings/business.

  2. Fill out the fields in the "Business Overview" section:
    1. Kizen Business Name*: This is the official name of your account that will appear on your invoices. It can be your name or the name of your insurance agency.

    2. Business Type: You can select this field as "Insurance" or leave this blank. This does not affect any configuration within your account.

    3. Timezone*: Select your timezone — this will determine the timezone for your DateTime fields, time-based automation triggers, and Timeline logs.

    4. Default Email From Address: This is the email address that you can send outgoing emails from Kizen. Read more about that here.

    5. Business Phone Number*: This is your business's phone number.

    6. Notification Text Number: This is Kizen's internal phone number that is exclusively used for text message notifications to yourself or internal team members in your account (which you can set up using Automations). The Notification Text Number cannot be edited to a different phone number.

    7. Business Address: All address fields must be filled out in order to send out marketing emails. (See note below.)

    8. Primary Marketing Contact: When sending templated emails to your clients from your Agent CRM, you can customize the primary “face” of your business if it is different from your Kizen Business Name.

  3. Click on the "SAVE" button in the top right corner.

⚠️  Why is the Business Address required?
Federal law requires a valid physical postal address to be included on all commercial emails. Emails sent from Kizen will automatically include the Business Address listed in your settings, as well as the option to opt out of future marketing emails, at the bottom of your emails. Learn more about CAN-SPAM Act requirements here.

How to Customize Your Business Settings (Optional)

  1. Click on "Settings" (it may be nested under the "Platform" tab) in the top menu or go to fmo.kizen.com/settings/business.

  2. Click on "UPLOAD" to add your Business Logo.

  3. Click on the squares under "Primary Color" and "Secondary Color" to adjust the default colors in your Agent CRM. These colors are used in the headers of external forms, surveys, and emails, so you can make sure they match your logo.

  4. Feel free to skip the "Subdomain*" field for now — this is a unique external identifier for your business that will be used in future roadmap features. Stay tuned for exciting updates!

  5. Click into the "Default Country Code for Phone Numbers" to select your country code. This will ensure that you don't need to select your country code (for example, "+1") every time you add a Contact's phone number to the Phone Number field.

  6. Click into "Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)" to enable or disable the requirement for two-step authentication for yourself and the users in your account.
    1. If you select "Disabled," you can just log into your account with your email address and password.

    2. If you select "Required," you and your users must click into "My Profile" to set up the MFA Authenticator App. Every time you log in, in addition to logging in with email address and password, you must also use the Authenticator App on your mobile device to enter a code.
  7. Add your "Custom Business Variables" — you can use these values as Merge Fields in email templates, automations, and more.

  8. Click on the "SAVE" button in the top right corner.
